Benslow en France - 9 - 13 August 2010

An exciting Benslow innovation, this choral course takes place in the idyllic surroundings of rural France, in and around the village of Azat le Ris in the Haute Vienne. Sessions will take place at the home of Benslow’s Head of Music, and we have engaged a superb local chef to prepare light lunches and four-course dinners for you (included in the course fee). We hope to be able to give an informal concert in the ancient village church at the end of the course and generally to involve the villagers as much as possible! We can provide information on accommodation in the locality and on how to get there from the UK via air, rail and road. However you will need to book your own accommodation and make your own travel and insurance arrangements. Travel and lodging costs are not included in the course fee.  Cost £410

Choral Training Day– Saturday 2 October 2010

9.45am-4pm  at BROMHAM VILLAGE HALL

Led by SIMON BERRIDGE

Members of Bedford Choral Society are warmly encouraged to come!! Please book a place asap!  There is no charge for members, and refreshments will be provided, although members will need to bring their own lunch.

Singers from other choirs - or none! -  are also invited, at a cost of £10 and will also need to bring their own lunch. Please book, then pay on the day.

Simon Berridge, a member of ‘The Sixteen’, was recently seen on TV’s ‘Sacred Music’ with Simon Russell Beale.    Much of the vocal work will be based around Mozart’s Requiem, (which BCS will be rehearsing next term for a concert on Saturday 11th December 2010).

11.45 – 1pm    2nd session

1.45 – 2.45 pm    3rd session followed by tea break

John Rutter Singing Day - 9 October 2010

Tickets £21 (under 18’s Free)

The celebrated composer and choir trainer John Rutter leads another of his popular Singing Days in Hitchin’s beautiful parish church. Participants will explore a range of choral classics together with works by Rutter himself. Music will be provided, and some might be available for purchase. Please note that participants should bring their own lunch. The day starts at 10 am and ends at 3.30 pm. Please note that this course takes place at St Mary's Church, Hitchin. Hertfordshire.
